Event Description: As consumers of the Internet, we collectively produce gigabytes of data everyday. In turn, organizations are collecting and storing this data, but have you wondered what they do with it? In this talk, we will discuss the art of data science and how organizations leverage this data to not only make business decisions, but deliver a better customer experience. About the Speaker: Jennifer Nguyen is a data scientist working at the Globe and Mail. She works with data on a daily basis to help the organization understand its audience and improve the reader experience. Before joining the Globe, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Waterloo majoring in statistics. Not having had enough fun with numbers, she went on to complete a Master’s degree in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning at University College London.
